Local Sympathetic Denervation of Femoral Artery in a Rabbit Model by Using 6-Hydroxydopamine In Situ

Both artery bundle and sympathetic nerve were involved with the metabolism of bone tissues. Whether the enhancing effects of artery bundle result from its accompanying sympathetic nerve or blood supply is still unknown. There is no ideal sympathetic nerve-inhibited method for the in situ denervation of artery bundle. Therefore, we dipped the femoral artery in the 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA) loca...

Cardiac Dysregulation and Myocardial Injury in a 6-Hydroxydopamine-Induced Rat Model of Sympathetic Denervation

BACKGROUND Cardiac sympathetic denervation is found in various cardiac pathologies; however, its relationship with myocardial injury has not been thoroughly investigated. METHODS Twenty-four rats were assigned to the normal control group (NC), sympathectomy control group (SC), and a sympathectomy plus mecobalamin group (SM). Sympathectomy was induced by injection of 6-OHDA, after which, the d...

Vasculature of Testis, Epididymis and Ductus Deferens of Rabbit. the Arteries

Rajtová V. , J . Danko: Vasculature of testis, epididymis and ductus deferens of Rabbit. The Arteries. Acta Vet. Brno 2001, 70: 3-7. The vasculature of the testis, epididymis and ductus deferens was studied in twenty adult rabbits using X-ray apparatus. For filling the roentgen-contrast and also colour-contrast mass we used red lead in 10 % warm gelatin. We found an irregular origin of the bila...

Sympathetic nerve cell destruction in newborn mammals by 6-hydroxydopamine.

A selective and permanent destruction of sympathetic ganglia was achieved by injecting 6-hydroxydopamine in newborn animals. A lifelong chemical sympathectomy may thus be obtained. The process of cell damage and destruction is substantially different from that produced with an antiserum to a specific nerve growth factor.

Postnatal Histochemical Study of the Ductus Deferens in the Ram*

The testis is an organ of lipid synthesis and catabolism. The testicular duct system is important for transportation, maturation and storage of sperms. The glands of the ampulla provide the first notable carbohydrate substrate to the semen (Pineda and Faulkner, 1980). The present work was undertaken to observe the histochemistry of carbohydrates, proteins and lipids during postnatal histologica...
